Artist's Statement
I have 'Schizoprenic' styles. My passion are 'paintings for the outdoors'. Large-scale paintings of graphic tropicana, painted onto wood and hung with rope. These paintings are colourful, vibrant and completely weather-proof. In our grey light they add drama and year-round colour to the garden. I use acrylic paint and special varnish to create a durable finish. Due to demand I do indoor versions of these on canvas. Loving a hard surface to work on, my figurative work is also on board. Primitive, earthy and sensual figures that owe a lot to cave paintings and the power of the female form.
Latest work is a departure from the figurative. A series of 'Hairy' paintings, a hybrid of a painting and tapestry that invites the viewer to touch and experience the work as well as look at it.

Background

I am the Director of FusionARTS charity. Building from a small group to Kingston's premier Artists Society, I have discovered a rich seam of creative talent in the borough and the university and I have created an artist studio complex with more than 30 artists insitu.
Having experience in many varied environments where I have been able to use my creative skills gives me the confidence not to be daunted by difficult situations. I have worked with many different groups and find communication of all kind stimulating. Publishing, advertising, interior design, party planning, airlines and FusionARTS Open Studios are all part of my past experiences.
Understanding the arts and passing that love on to others is a passion tempered by good organisational skills.
