Ania Pawlik:
I am highly dedicated visual artist based in London, who experiments with photography and illustration. I am looking for unique and distinguish way to combine both media together.
I am a graduate in BA Photography from Kingston University.
My work included painting, drawing, illustration and photography.
My recent work represents a culmination of many attempts to bridge the gap between classical and modern artistic styles; Renaissance and Surrealism, Realism and Expressionism, Symbolism and Minimalism.
I am exploring the rituals of everyday life that transform into an atmospheric, uncanny staged event. I am interested in the theatrical and imaginary scenarios, where surrealism flickers through realism. I like telling stories and creating enigmatic worlds, where everything is possible. Very often I use human figure, or body parts as a symbol of my present within the picture also to express emotions; it is a link between the real and imaginary world.
I am using all sort of media to archive my idea; Illustrator, Photoshop, ink, marker pen, colour pencil, watercolours, ready-made objects, photographs... whatever is available really.
